We are glad to declare
that Plant Operation & Maintenance Club (www.pomc.info)
is going to organize this special programme once again for a fresh batch
of professionals willing to join the unique community of practicing Energy
Managers. The first programme conducted during January – April 2007 was
immensely successful.
WHAT THE PROGRAMME OFFERS?
Ø
The
programme offers an opportunity to learn energy
management in a structured way so that the participants can identify and
quantify energy saving opportunities at their organization.
Ø
Most of the
organizations have a dedicated energy cell these days, but very few can
actually utilize this resource in the most effective way. The programme
offers a well defined guideline to the practicing energy managers for
effective energy management at their plant.
Ø
Energy
Management is not once in three years activity. It is a continuous process
involving ever developing technology and practices. The programme connects
the participating professionals to an exclusive community. Primary
objective of this community is to share amongst each other, energy
efficient practices and technologies constantly
evolving in the industry.

THE COURSE OFFERS A GREAT COACHING OPPORTUNITY
TO THE ASPIRING CANDIDATES OF ‘NATIONAL CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION
FOR ENERGY MANAGERS AND ENERGY AUDITORS CONDUCTED BY BEE!’ THE NEXT
CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION IS SCHEDULED ON 17TH & 18TH
NOVEMBER 2007 |
Course Detail
THE NEED:
|
[Under
Energy Conservation Act, 2001,
Section 2(s) & 14(l),
it has become mandatory for all designated energy consumers to
appoint or designate Energy Manager.]
It might be a very
timely intervention by BEE as some of us seldom do anything extra, even
after knowing it would be in our best interest, UNLESS we are forced to do
the same. Since we HAVE TO do it now, we should understand fully, the
actual role of an ‘ENERGY MANAGER’ in an organization. Unlike the rest,
the performance of an Energy Manager will be directly reflecting in the
profit & loss account of the balance sheet of any organization as rupees
saved in energy cost will be directly added to the profit.

Orientation Programme for the Participants at
Baroda Productivity Council, Productivity House,
Productivity Road, Vadodara
1st Batch on 22nd
September'07 &

As per the BEE
guideline, most of us identify ‘Energy Manager’ only as position who would
be dealing with all Energy issues, representing their organization to BEE,
and coordinating with EXTERNAL Auditing agency for energy audit and
implementation. How we read the first of these three responsibilities
matters the most.
We should read it as
position who Plans, develops, motivates and
manages the energy and utilities management program to implement a
comprehensive energy conservation program; develops and implements
strategic plans to achieve reductions in energy consumption; supervises
staff of unit including assigning and reviewing work, performance
evaluation and feedback and resolving performance and operating problems
for the organization.

COURSE DETAIL:
HOW IT IS DONE?
The scope of an Energy Manager is enormous. There is hardly any aspect in
different activities of an Organization, where energy saving opportunities
is not available. Creating an Energy Manager, to take care of these
opportunities is not a time bound job – it is continuing process.
►
FIRST
WE GET YOU STARTED:
One of the most essential qualities of an efficient Energy Manager is that
their concept should have a very strong foundation. Learning some
information about energy efficient practices may not be adequate to make
them capable of implementing that information in practice. To manage
energy effectively, one should first know to quantify the energy
consumption and then should have the analytical capability to assess and
identify energy saving opportunities.
We first build the foundation, with the help of small knowledge blocks and
systematically develop that concept.
Devki Energy – one of the oldest and well known Energy Auditing Firm is
associated in this programme to guide the participants in effective energy
management.
Under the guidance of some very experienced faculties, the participants
would be able to explore energy saving opportunities in various energy
intensive equipment and systems like Steam System, Pump and Pumping
System , Fans and Blowers, Compressors,
HVAC Systems, Electrical Systems, etc.
A major part of the learning process would be done as distance learning
through internet. WE HAVE PREPARED A DEMO FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE
SYSTEM, WHICH CAN BE SEEN AT
http://www.pomctraining.info/emp/ , by using login name as ‘demo’
and password as ‘demo’.
►
THEN
WE WILL SEE YOU THROUGH:
The most unique part of this distance learning system is that at every
point, the participants will get the support from the faculties. As you
would see from the demo, that after answering a set, getting the
assessment, reading the note, you still get a chance to clear your doubt
on each and every concept by interacting with the faculties. Therefore,
this program isn't just about teaching from a distance. But about learning
with such close interaction and supervision that you feel you are in the
classroom!
►
COMBINATION OF E-LEARNING & IN-CLASS ROOM TRAINING
After completion of the 1st part of e-learning, candidates are
invited to join the traditional in-classroom training for THREE DAYS to
facilitate face to face discussion. This will help them to overcome all
doubts, remaining from the e-learning session. The classroom training is
specifically designed to help the aspiring candidates of ‘National
Certification Examination for Energy Managers and Energy Auditors,
conducted by BEE.’ This will be followed by the 2nd part of the
e-learning session for final assessment of the candidates.
►
THE
LEARNING CONTINUES…
After the completion of this course, you will be automatically joining an
exclusive community of 'Energy
Conservers' at POMC. In a special forum at
www.pomc.info, you can communicate with your fellow Energy
Conservators, share best practices, learn about latest developments and
continue to develop yourself as a responsible and effective Energy Manager
for your Organization and Country.
